This year, Amersham in Bloom is taking its efforts to a new level. The goal is to create a large nature-themed picture in the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre, a collaborative work containing sections from various schools. Coordinating our school’s sections was Mrs Prime and her team of Year 8s while artists from Year 7 were tasked with tackling the 30 blank canvases. Each had a certain colour scheme to adhere to, but within that restriction, creativity flourished - students experimented with an assortment of paints as well as crayons, tissue paper and even buttons to bring their ideas to life. And, as this image shows, the finished artworks look fabulous!

Once the other schools’ parts are complete, the full image will be assembled and will take its place at the Lifestyle Centre - a proud moment for all those who have been involved in this project. Rumours have been circulating that it will be a tree… But who knows? You’ll have to see it in person to find out!
