Over February half term, years 10,11 and 12 had the privilege to travel to Austria for the biennial DCGS senior ski trip. The trip took place in Saalbach-Hinterglemm where we stayed in a ski-in, ski-out resort residing on the side of a mountain. The first day entailed catching the closing ceremony of the Ski World Championships alongside yet another sighting of the fan favourite teacher outfit; Mr Lunnon’s ‘Barney the Dinosaur’. Following the first few days of vigorous yet exhilarating skiing, we had the brilliant opportunity to go and watch an intense local ice-hockey game, featuring four highly anticipated fights, as well as two movie nights carefully selected by Mr Cullen. It was truly a great experience for everyone, no matter their skiing ability, so don’t let your ability deter you from going on a future school ski trip! All in all, it was a thrilling and fantastic trip that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. We are extremely grateful to all the staff involved in both the planning and execution of the trip, with a special thanks to Mr Lunnon for being the head organiser.
